This is a really nice mechanic pencil. It goes well with my leather note book and it pushes out just the right amount of lead unlike many others I've had. I like the weight of it too. Its not too heavy. Overall a very nice use of the screwdriver shaft rejects.
Been using my pencil, and I for the most part have had no major issues, works well.
As for the minor issues, the first is due to the mechanism they used for the internals of the pencil. This mechanism does not retract the tip back into the shaft, so you need to always be aware of the point of the pencil so you don’t stab yourself. The packaging was well thought out to protect the tip from damaging during shipping in the box.
The second minor thing doesn’t weigh on my rating, there is no eraser, which is fine for this product, I actually prefer that after using it, just be aware as the fact isn’t listed on the product page
.
My third minor issue is what dropped it down a star, they can definitely fix this issue without a major revision or significant cost change. The click/travel isn’t satisfactory, be great if it made a noise but my issue is related to the spring at the top. The spring is not stiff enough, when you depress the top, it can move somewhere between 1/2 to 2/3 of the travel distance without engaging the pencil mechanism. With a stiffer or longer spring, the clicking would be uniform. If they fix this on future production runs then I can recommend it as is, if not, maybe consider ordering a set of pen springs online after you try it out yourself.
I love this pencil.
At first it felt worse than my Staedtler Mech Pencil but with time, I grew to like the the LTT Mech Pencil just as well. As I kept using the pencil, I liked it more than the Staedtler.
My only complaint is that the clip is on the "wrong side" of the Lever" for a right handed user.
The core of the issue is the weight. The LTT Mech Pencil is heavier as expected due to the the materials, which take a bit of time to get used to when you have been using a lightweight Mech Pencil for years.
Overall however, this is a must have Item!
Solid pencil build quality and mechanics. The pencil overall is great. Only thing missing for me is an eraser otherwise it would be 5 stars.
I loved the scribe driver so I had to get the pencil for the set. Love them both!
