Description

Our ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver features a knurled stainless steel shaft with a strong embedded magnet, internal storage for 12 "shorty" 20mm bits (or 6 full-sized bits), an in-house designed three-lobe handle for comfort and ergonomics, and a tastefully-embossed LTT logo on the end cap.

The ratchet is based on Megapro's long-standing & reliable design, but has been significantly modified to suit our needs. We reversed the ratchet direction (right for clockwise, left for anti-clockwise), adjusted the spring for lighter back-force which allows you to ratchet-drive even very small screws, and optimized for smoothness and quiet function. It's rated for operation of up to 220 inch-pounds of force.

Our bit storage is another collaboration with Megapro. We utilized their patented bit clip storage design, but adjusted the length of the clips & the size of the total cavity to allow for our smaller, more ergonomic handle.

All external plastics are Triax 1120 - a Nylon and ABS polymer which is great for injection molding parts like ours - for its overall durability and chemical resistance. The only exception is the black "accent ring" on the all black versions, which are made from machined Delrin, and the orange "accent ring" on the black & orange version, which are made from injection molded ABS.

Internal plastics in our ratchet are also made from Delrin for its self-lubricating properties, and our ratchet housing is made from Zinc.

Our industrial-looking black phosphate-coated S2 steel bits are durable and rust resistant.

Standard bit set included with the screwdriver: PH0, PH1, PH2, H2, H2.5, H4, SL2, SL4, SL6, SQ1, SQ2, and our 5x5 Magnet bit (affectionately named "The Screw Retriever") (This was previously listed as a 6x6 magnet bit, but that was incorrect. The size is 5x5mm)

NOTE: Bits are a consumable item and will wear or break down over time. Visual wear to the black phosphate coating is normal and expected.

Other bit sets are available for purchase at https://www.lttstore.com/products/bits

4-1/2 stars

This thing is great. A few notable mentions: 1) the shaft is long and isn’t removable, so it can’t go in a carry-on.
2) the strong magnet is great, but the magnetic field isn’t directional, so the shaft keeps sticking to nearby metal objects.
3) wish there was more grip on the ratchet knob, if I set the ratchet the wrong direction, I can’t change the setting one-handed very easily.
4) the handle feels surprisingly cheap, well built, but would be nicer if the back cap was metal or plastic over-molded on a piece of metal to help with balance. Better yet, a big ball-bearing and metal cap like the precision driver!
5) it would be nice if the bits were laser-etched on the shank with P1, P2 etc. can be hard to pick out the right black bit from all the other black bits.
6) no number 1 Robertson bit? I’ve needed a number 1 square bit at least 3 times in the 6 times I’ve tried to use this screwdriver. Where is the Robertson bit set?
7) a case, like the one you can get for the precision screwdriver would be awesome. Better yet, a case that holds both screwdrivers and all the bits for both with a nice big magnetic parts tray lid would be epic!

great feeling

I like that it can be ratcheting and non ratcheting with a switch. I like the feel of it in the hand and I like that it can carry so many bits. I would suggest 2 improvements. 1 -> ability to choose the bits you need at purchase. 2 -> this is not about the screwdriver itself, I would like to be able to purchase a bit set with all/most available bits that comes in case like your precision bit case

I'm no expert

I'm no expert but it's hands down the best screwdriver I have used. Just that the magnet is strong and that it goes through the bits strong is a life saver at times.

Long term review

I purchased my screwdriver right when they came out about three years ago, and it has literally been used every single work day since. I’m a copier service tech and it hasn’t failed me once. It’s been dropped many times, and has screwed and unscrewed literally thousands of screws, with no complaints. Just today before the time of writing I dropped it and the whole thing came apart at the spline and I thought it might be the end of it. However, I put it together as much as I could, and with a little bit of elbow grease, or more accurately, holding it by the shaft side and slamming the bit holder side against a concrete wall multiple times, is sat right back in and is set for another three years. I’m truly amazed by this tool, and compared to the equally as expensive big brand ratchet driver we bought and used during our house remodel that lasted literally a week before the ratchet gave up, this is shockingly impressive. Great job LTT, you done good with this one.

Fantastic screwdriver

I'm by no means and expert on tools, but can occasionally do some DIY stuff around the house and love building my own PCs.
It is very apparent that a lot of thought and care went into this product and it's a joy to use. The screwdriver's fit and finish, the dense plastic, the incredibly precise and light ratcheting mechanism, the beautifully machined shaft... this thing is awesome and very pleasant and comfortable to use.

Dear LTT product design team, hope you never lose your drive, will and patience to spend time and crunch details in order to create products as excellent as the screwdriver in the future! I hope every product that comes out from you guys is the "XX-th refined iteration" when it's released and be the result from countless tests, brainstorming sessions, prototypes and whatnot.
I'm confident the majority of LTT's customer base would prefer things be done that way and wait much longer for a perfectly cooked product, rather than rush it out the door half-assed.
