Description
At long last, our ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver has arrived.
This is the complete vision of a screwdriver designed for Linus and the whole LTT team. It features a knurled stainless steel shaft with a strong magnet inside, internal storage for 12 "shorty" 20mm bits (or 6 full-sized bits), an in-house designed three-lobe handle for comfort and ergonomics, and a tastefully-embossed LTT logo on the end cap.
The ratchet is based on Megapro's long-standing & reliable design, but has been significantly modified to suit our needs. We reversed the ratchet direction (right for clockwise, left for anti-clockwise), adjusted the spring for lighter back-force which allows you to ratchet-drive even very small screws, and optimized for smoothness and quiet function. It's rated for operation of up to 220 inch-pounds of force.
Our bit storage is another collaboration with Megapro. We utilized their patented bit clip storage design, but adjusted the length of the clips & the size of the total cavity to allow for our smaller, more ergonomic handle.
All external plastics are Triax 1120 - a Nylon and ABS polymer which is great for injection molding parts like ours - for its overall durability and chemical resistance. The only exception is the black "accent ring" on the all black versions, which are made from machined Delrin, and the orange "accent ring" on the black & orange version, which are made from injection molded ABS.
Internal plastics in our ratchet are also made from Delrin for its self-lubricating properties, and our ratchet housing is made from Zinc.
Our industrial-looking black phosphate-coated S2 steel bits are durable and rust resistant.
Standard bit set included with the screwdriver: PH0, PH1, PH2, H2, H2.5, H4, SL2, SL4, SL6, SQ1, SQ2, and our 5x5 Magnet bit (affectionately named "The Screw Retriever") (This was previously listed as a 6x6 magnet bit, but that was incorrect. The size is 5x5mm)
NOTE: Bits are a consumable item and will wear or break down over time. Visual wear to the black phosphate coating is normal and expected.
Other bit sets are available for purchase at https://www.lttstore.com/products/bits
Using patents from Megapro Tools Inc.: 5,265,504 & 7,258,046
Orders including a screwdriver and other items will ship together (eg. if you order a screwdriver, a t-shirt, and a water bottle, all of those items will ship once the screwdriver is ready). The only exception to this is the Backpack, which will ship separately once it is available.
WARNING: Not compliant with airport security restrictions in some countries (including but not limited to US and Canada). Verify all security/travel restrictions before traveling with your screwdriver!

So I work as a network administrator. I recently bought this screwdriver because my old ratcheting screwdriver was going the way of the dodo, and I wanted to try something less aggressive grip-wise and with a quiet ratchet mechanism.
The order came from BC and arrived earlier than projected via Canada post to NB. I have used it to mount stacking cables and mostly find dropped server rack screws. The magnet is powerful, and I can lift my old ratchet screwdriver with the LTT one. This segues nicely with how light the LTT one is. I keep it in a coat chest pocket and can forget it is there.
This niche tool is a one-handed screwdriver specific to electronic maintenance and repair. When I say "one-handed," everything can be done with your hand. This makes sense when you remember the designer is one of the most clumsy people known to Man.
My only complaint and more of a comment would be that they should not coat the bits. They fade ever so slightly on first use, and honestly, the bits don't need them for the niche workload the screwdriver is for. Plus, since I also bought the satin set, it would look better without powder-coated bits. I would take only half a star away if it were an option, and if they ever offer chrome or stainless steel bits, I will replace them when that time comes.
I recommend this screwdriver as the best screwdriver for what I need. It won't replace my many automotive and workshop screwdrivers, but it never was meant to.
I'm not a connoisseur of screwdrivers, nor do I throw money at influencers mindlessly. I did my homework and read/watched reviews. In need of a screwdriver for things around the house (especially tech projects) that this product fills, I had eyes/ears open - coincidentally this screwdriver splashed onto the market. I followed it for a while, hesitating at the higher-than-normal price. It is pricey - but it has been worth it. It's not perfect, but I find myself annoyed when doing any house projects or tech projects and I don't have it beside me.
My main feedback is the need for maybe different default bits - hex or torx bits would have been more useful for day-to-day (and tech) stuff versus the square bits included. Additionally, for some tight spaces, either the shaft or the handle were too thick to reach inside. At times the magnet can feel overpowering, with not even a shake dropping screws - when working on a lot of items, it can be annoying to manually remove each one from the tip. That said, I also get annoyed at other screwdrivers that have extremely lethargic magnetism.
Ultimately, I built a homelab 22U server/network rack, and this screwdriver did 99.99% of the work, and performed admirably. That was its break-in project. No regrets, and I would consider buying a holster and bit holder, along with purchasing this as a gift for others.
Despite the feedback/limitations I mentioned above, it still gets a 5/5 from me.
Great screw driver its has a better feel and direction change than my snap-on ratcheting screw driver. The extra strength magnetic end really makes a big difference.
Great aftersales support from the team at LTT store, my order took the long way around the world to get to me via a under ocean scenic route. When I contacted the sales team to see what my options might be, they just sent me a new one which arrived in a third of the time without being soaked in saltwater. (Got to love shipping companies).
I placed me order in early before the reviews to show my support for the channel, and was not disappointed.
I have waited for a long time for the delivery of the special ratcheting screwdriver. Many of my friends and colleague have good feedback on the ratcheting mechanism. The magnets are strong and valuable in all situations. The overall handling and experience have been so excellent!
This product is great!
This is my first time using a ratcheting screwdriver, so it took awhile remembering to use the ratchet feature.
Handle fits great in my palm.
Both the bit holder and ratchet has a very satisfying sound and motion.
