Description

Great quality workshop jacket! As a guy who lives in the EU and regulaly orders t-shirts from LTT, i was suprised that sizes was waaaay different, i get T-shirts in size XXL that fits me well as a EU size XXL… so i went and ordered the jacket in XXL too, sadly i recived a tent sized jacket… i ended ud in a jacket size L not even XL, the shouæder part is a bit narrow, but even tho i’m no slim buiæt guy, theres stil pleeenty of room around the stomac region! So guys used to EU sizes! Beware to check and dubble check size charts… and even then it can still be a bit off :)
I missed out on the first stock of the workshop jacket - so when it came back in stock, I jumped at the chance to get one when lime day came round and I was ordering lots of items.
So what do I think after a few weeks of using it. Firstly, my 'workshop' is a garage with a few stationary tools, a bit of mechanical and woodworking. For all these tasks, it is awesome. Built like you would want a working jacket to be built, the fabrics chosen are great. I am not planning to trying out all the claims / resistance to flame, water, and chemical - but it certainly does not feel like it will wear out any time soon.
I use it to go out and about as well, it is warm enough for me here in Sweden in the Autumn but on the occasional summer day once the temperature got in to the 20s - it was took much for me, too warm. For winter, I suspect unless it gets below -20oC - a warm shirt and this will be ok.
Fit wise. I am normally an XL and I bought an XL. It is slightly too big with a thin tshirt on - but to be honest this is AOK with me. So for me at least, the sizing is spot on - very happy.
I hope it is something LTT stock for years to come and I hope if you are looking for a workshop jacket or a slightly different jacket to the norm, you give this a go.
I have tried many different options in the shop from jackets to coveralls to aprons never quite finding what I wanted. This jacket is it.
Comfortable, hard wearing, all the pockets you need but they don't get in the way if you don't need them.
I've had mine for a year, this one is for my wife who kept stealing mine.
The materials and hardware used in the jacket are pretty damn good and seem like they will likely hold up to a bit of abuse, some casual abrasion, a little bit of CA glue, maybe a stray second long whiff from a blowtorch, etc.
The same cannot be said for the stitching. Unlike others, I have only had issues with the pockets so far, with one or two developing a small hole. I don’t think it’s worth the carbon emissions to send it back to Canada just for that, I’m going to see if a local tailor can work on it. Based on how repairable he rates the design, This might be a 4.5 / 5 star, as on a work garment, stitches are going to get ripped eventually.
It is definitely a AC / winter jacket though, least down here where we get triple digits in freedom units.
Fits well on a big frame and once it breaks in it will be nice and wearable.
