Surprising amount of storage
A 20L external volume and a large storage compartment we call “the bag of holding” is built to fit and organize your day-to-day essentials.

Quick-access external pockets

Lots of space to store everything I want

Lots of space to store everything I want. Lots of pockets and build quality seems great. Me and my friendboth got one to use while motorcycling around so they have to be durable and hopefully at least a little rainproof. Which sofar it seems to be.

Not worth the price compared to competitors

To start off, I ordered it at launch with the youtube shopping discount making it 120$ and it took just barely over 4 months for it to arrive.

This was my first time investing any kind of decent money into a backpack, previously using cheap backpacks or ones I got from work / company sponsored events. At the time it seemed good, I prefer smaller backpacks because I am on the small side for a man of my height and larger backpacks look too wide on me. The compartments make sense, the orange looks great and the way it holds the water bottle is nice. However the outside looks pretty basic and on the cheaper side in my opinion, the fabric is scratchy and it easily picks up any dust when I put it down.

Recently my work made me swap from a 15" to 17" laptop, because of this I couldn't use the commuter backpack anymore. I don't like the look of the normal/WAN LTT backpack so I went to some local stores to checkout different models. I found that for 100€ I could get the "Samsonite Evosight" which is available in both 13, 15 and 17" formats and just felt much better quality sturdier zippers, nicer quality fabrics / some leather parts, better supports,a stronger top handle and more comfortable shoulder straps.

This blows the commuter backpack out of the water, considering the non-discounted 170$ price of the commuter excluding shipping. Especially considering I ended up getting the similar "Samsonite Spectrolite" for 150€ which features a premium mostly leather construction, overall higher quality and comfort, an expanding compartment for if you want to use it for travel, USB passthrough and in my opinion just simply looks much better from the outside. (I do like the orange inside on the LTT bags).

Overall the commuter backpack is decent, but now that I have experienced other bags I can confidently say you can get much higher quality for a lower price elsewhere. I mentioned the specific models that I compared the commuter to hoping that the merch team can use it for some market research :)

my thoughts 3-4 months later

I love it. It’s a big step up from any bag I’ve owned, here the heat can get pretty intense & carrying a heavy bag around turns into a sweaty mess. This bag has made that a lot more manageable. The way the back panel & straps are designed feels very breathable, so even in high temps it does not feel like I have a solid block glued to my back. makes lugging my laptop & all my other daily stuff around much more bearable. so i am very happy about that

1. nothing feels cheap. I can hang it up by the handle with my heavy laptop & stuff inside & not worry about the handle getting ripped off. All the zippers & buckles feel really good, the rough texture feels very durable.

2. The bottle pockets are large. I have used them for handhelds, umbrellas, & even multiple things at once. They seem strong & stay in place. I like how the elastic keeps the top of the bottle place closed so it acts as a bit of a soft lock, so nothing inside spills out.

3. The inner organizers are very useful. Love the soft glasses & iPad pockets, & the base is strong so that I feel nothing inside will break from impacts.

4. its really good at distributing weight around. Even with a really heavy laptop & other things inside, it never pins to one place & is distributed really well, better than any of my previous bags ever did.

5. The hidden pockets are well done. I was afraid they would eat into the space of the bottle, but I really cannot feel my wallet in there. & its easily accessible.

Cons:

1. it feels really tight when filled up. If I have my mbp16" in there, the front compartment organizers get tight. I can barely stuff my notebook into the pouch up front, & it doesnt have enough space for me to put my hand in to get it out. this is with just the laptop. If I have an iPad or my ssd in the back, it is really difficult to get any use out of the front pocket pouches at all. Even the back feels difficult to zip. I would have liked looser pockets.

2. I feel like the straps are way too close on my neck. The soft padded part of the strap is short, so I have the choice of either having the soft padded straps, or having the bag comfortably sitting lower with the straps extended long but with less padding. The back also feels straight & does not bend to shape to the curve of my back. This could be a pro or a con depending on if you want a rigid or flexible bag. For me I would have preferred a slightly flexible back along with how comfortable it already is.

Shipping:

I ordered mine to Dubai, a major global city, & assumed there would not be any issues with shipping.
Naturally, I thought my Commuter Backpack would take a similar route. It is bigger & heavier, sure, so I was ready to pay an import fee. I also understood the position of LTT with this being a new release, I was prepared for some delay as long as it was reasonable.
I placed my order on December 26th, just over an hour after it went live, as a "wave 1" customer. I was hoping to have it by the end of January. Then came the tariff delays, which was understandable, my shipping date got pushed to February 3rd. At that point I was okay with it, as a wave 1 customer I figured I would be given priority anyway,

Well, my bag actually shipped out on February 22nd! almost 20 days after the promised date, & this was while wave 2 people were receiving theirs & wave 3 shipments were starting to go out. That is where I really started questioning the point of the wave system, because I clearly was not given any actual priority as an early buyer at all.
What made it worse is that those 20 extra days were completely radio silent. I did not get a single update, I even reached out during this time & specifically asked to speak to a human about my order, but all I got back was a reply from the AI bot. No follow-up from a person, no extra info to help. From there, it took almost another month to reach me. Emirates Post charged me another $8 to deliver it to my place, otherwise it would just sit in their warehouse “ready to be collected by the customer.” This is on top of the $25 shipping fee I had already paid. So why was DHL not delivering directly to my door? Why was it handed over to Emirates Post at all? I had to track the shipment myself across different websites, download the Emirates Post app, & dig around until I found out they were waiting on ME to pay before they would even move the package!

I finally got the bag on March 20th, after some wave 3 customers already had theirs, waiting almost three months from purchase to delivery. As a university student, the extra cost was annoying, but even more than that, it was just frustrating watching other people get theirs sooner while I was stuck for 20 extra days past the date ugh
i dont want this review to feel overly negative, i am actually very happy, i have had people try this bag on & comment on how light it feels, It’s built to last and feels great to use, & has already made carrying my daily load easier. I can see myself using it for years

Great backpack but with staining isssue

Pros:
- Excellent build quality
- Lots of pockets to put your gear
- Spacious inner compartment
- Comfortable to wear when full and heavy
- Love the luggage strap and chest strap
- Responsive and kind customer service but solution can be better (see cons)

Cons:
Serious shoulder strap staining when used in hot humid weather or under cool rainy days. I have multiple light colored t shirt permanently stained by this. Support mentioned that this is not a defect and suggests me to not wear it under humid or wet condition, in my opinion this is not reasonable. I do not expect the bag to stain so easily especially compared to other cheaper bags I owned that do not have this staining issue. One other thing, after a few months of use, I notice that my bag color is not as black as the day I got it. I am not sure if this fading is expected but it feels a bit too soon for me. I hope the quality can be improved and I was provided with a better solution.

It’s a good bag just with some minor issues

It’s a good bag and in many areas it’s very well built however it has this weak plastic part which broke the first time I used the bad, it’s the bit that stops the straps from loosening because I think the metal part for the straps doesn’t hold it tight enough. Just keep this in mind. My 15.6” laptop is also a bit tight when I’ve got other stuff in the bag but itll probably give when it’s worn in. The other thing is that most of the pockets are very tight and make it hard to put stuff in or they cause the bag to bulge and make other pockets tighter.
