Great for my use case

I work at a school. I take a backpack with my computer, a few folders and notebooks. These all fit nicely in the back compartment of the backpack. In the front compartment, I carry writing utensils, a charger and an LTT tech sack (which I use as a snack sack). I can see how this may be small for many people, but it works great for my use case. I can say that the side pockets that should carry water bottles do not work well with the bottles I own (they are 40oz Hydro Flasks with handles), the handles will fit if I really stretch the pocket, but I just carry them by the handle because it's a bit of a hassle. If you have water bottles with no handles they will fit just fine. Hope this helps would be buyers. I love the feel and the quality of it by the way, it is also very comfortable to carry around.

Great for the commute - don't expect to fit **anything** else in

I see what they tried to do with it, and I like it, and I can live with it comfortably but there's some nags I can't quite get over that can feel a bit papercut-y.

The pockets on the main holding section are confusing to me, I get the mesh one, the pen one and the magnet one, but I'm not entirely sure what I could possibly fit in the other ones; there's simply too many sharing far too little space to be very useful - the top zipper one is holding half a dozen hairbands, and even that barely fits - that's how small it is. The bottom zipper has an airtag in it because I'll never ever reach it during normal use. I think if it was just the stretchy mesh pocket, magnet pocket, pen pocket and the top zip pocket, the extra space would make them far more flexible, or it could have made the main holding area bigger.
This is a bit of a weird metric, but the main part can hold about 6 kaiser buns of volume comfortably without squishing them - or 2 and a jumper/jacket - not too unreasonable to have my packet lunch with me and be able to put my top layer into my bag as well so I dont have to carry it.
Now for the laptop section.. the laptop pocket itself is lovely, my 14" hp probook fits comfortably, but snuggly, and it feels secure yet easy to take in and out. The tablet pocket on the other hand.. I feel a bit more controversial about. It goes about halfway down the section and then stops - meaning it is sticking out from the laptop pocket from about halfway down and then up to the top. This makes it very convenient for my epaper tablet, and it has a fancy microfibre feeling inside fabric to protect the screen (I think??), but it makes the other half of the section below it - the rest of the void other than the two pockets - very difficult to use. Imagine it like an "L" shape around the pockets - not many things have a shape like this, and when you have things in the tablet and laptop pockets, this section is practically unusable - just imagine it as extra padding for your tablet/laptop or something. I really like the two meshy pockets at the top, but again they suffer from the same issue, that accessing that entire void below them becomes impossible when there's anything in them. In fact, because they're so close to the top of the outer layer/seam, it's quite difficult to put things inside of them or taking them back out - a charger, type c cable, and a logitech mx master 3 are all a little hard to manoeuvre. Personally, I think moving them lower below or on the same level as the tablet pocket might have used the volume better, but that's just a hypothesis.
Combined, this unfortunately locks away a lot of the bag's volume in pockets or voids that are inaccessible or too small in practice, which is frustrating because the outer of the backpack feels amazing.
The sunglasses pocket on the outside is good, but the material is quite tight and has a bit of a weird shape when unzipped - it forms an oval sorta opening, so you have to fiddle with angling stuff to get it in or out if it is close to the edges of the pocket - I have to grab my sunglasses in the bag and get them to the right angle for them to get out... frustrating.
How, the bottle holders I think are actually a relatively strong point of this backpack, they can get *surprisingly* wide, but they do stretch out on the elastics relatively fast - sub two months of using the 40oz ltt bottle almost daily on the right (when wearing) side, and the 21oz doesnt really fit anymore - it sits loose now. Not a massive problem, but worth considering.
The surprise zipper pockets on the bottle holders are a mystery to me, I have stored my work smartcard in them once and with the lanyard wrapped around it it barely fit in there, so again, not sure why they're there - i could just put my smartcard in my wallet or pocket or wear my lanyard.

Haven't had an opportunity to use the passport pocket much but ive started putting my work smartcard in there and it fits alright and it's nice to have easy access to it.

Biggest flaw I have noticed is the slack/adjustment strap on the strap. One of the thin plastic cross pieces snapped clean off when I was putting it on after 2-3 weeks of wearing - really not a lot - and now it obviously just dangles freely, and I have noticed that the strap comes loose pretty easily and often - but I dont mind this very much and am ok with adjusting it. The bigger issue is that this snapped part has scratched up my arm quite badly multiple times while putting the backpack on or taking it off (imagine three or four 5-8cm razer cuts along my forearm) - not sure what I'm going to do with it, might cut it off with some side cutters. I have seen two other reviews mentioning this, so I believe it's a design defect.
I contacted support and they offered a replacement or refund so I can't complain about ltt service, but this review is about the product.

TLDR; great if you only carry
- bottle
- laptop
- tablet
- charger
- cable
- lunch

Definitely Would Buy Again!

Tittle says it all. Absolutely fantastic quality and plenty of space even with it being a "smaller" bag. Have already recommended it to my friends and family!

Small but mighty!

I bought this backpack because I own the original Backpack and love it, but wanted something a little smaller. This fits that need! I also love that the water bottle pouches are on the outside, because it helps me not forget things in there, and I often make use of both sides.

All that said, there are some downsides:

1) It's smaller! While sometimes good, you also can't fit as much stuff in here. It's not great for hauling around two laptops, and I often have to use the larger backpack when carrying around more than 3 loaves of bread.

2) The zipper for the sunglasses pouch is easy to confuse with the zipper for the large compartment. Unlike the original Backpack, this one has those pockets very close together and the tassels all get tangled. Think about adding something to the zippers to make the more distinct.

3) The extra pockets in the laptop compartment aren't as big (because it's smaller) so they aren't as usable. I'm able to fit my 40% keyboard and Magic Trackpad in the original Backpack, but have to get creative with placement in the Commuter Backpack.

Great Bag

Just a great bag. My electronics are cushioned and safe. The straps are very secure. I love the sleeves for water bottles. And it's just comfortable to carry even when it's packed and heavy. The only thing I wish for is an easy place to put pins.
