HOW TO INSTALL
Standard Adhesive Plates:
- Clean your mounting surface with 70% isopropyl alcohol or soap and water solution to remove any dirt or oil that may interfere with the adhesive backing.
- Peel the backing layer off a loose plate (or magnetically connected plate and arch) to expose the adhesive.
- Press the plate (or connected plate and arch) against the surface in the desired location.
- Apply firm pressure to the plate or arch against the mounting surface for at least 3-4 seconds.
- For maximum security, screw your plate into your mounting surface with the included screws.
If you used a Magnetic Arch to help position your adhesive plate:
-
Carefully remove the arch from the plate (Tip: reaching inside the arch to hold the plate against the surface while sliding the arch sideways can be helpful)
- Ensure good contact between the entire plate to the mounting surface by firmly pressing all areas of the plate against the mounting surface.
DISCLAIMER:
WARNING — INTERNAL INJURY HAZARD
Swallowed magnets can damage internal organs and have resulted in DEATH and SERIOUS INJURIES.
These magnets are NOT toys. Keep away from ALL children.
NEVER put magnets near your mouth or nose. Magnet ingestions are often accidental and there is a possibility that they will occur from:
-
Young children finding loose or missing magnets.
-
Older children and teens playing with magnets in their mouths or nose and imitating piercings.
Be aware of dropped or separated magnets. When not in use, locate all magnets and count them individually or return them to the following shape to be sure that none are missing. Store all magnets safely away from children, and in a secure storage container.
Seek immediate medical attention or contact the poison control center immediately if you think magnets were ingested. It is possible that X-rays or prompt surgical removal will be required. Do not wait for symptoms to appear as it is feasible that by then it will be too late for medical intervention.
Symptoms of magnet ingestion are often non-specific (abdominal pain, fever, etc.) and can take anywhere from hours to weeks to appear. By then, the damage can be severe. Untreated ingestions of magnets are likely to cause intestinal blockage, perforation, bleeding, infection, and death.

Chapter 1 | The Nature and Sources of the Supreme Court's Authority
Introduction. Consistutional law courses and materials traditionally emphsized Supreme Court decisions. True, the Supreme Court is not the only court authorized to examine constitutional claims, and courts are not the only court authorized to examine consititutional claims, and courts are not the only forums for significant constitutional debates. But more than the pedagogical tradition court, the Supreme Court s last word makes it the most important judicial voice. And a remarkable range of constitutional questions has reached the Court: the over $500$ volumes of reports of a court often occupied with constitutional questions are no doubt the richest source of constitutional law.
It is traditional, too, to begin the examination of constitutional law problems with opinions from the Court presided over the Chief Justice John Marshall early in the nineteenth century. Thus, Part $I$ begins with Marbury $v.$ Madison; Part $II$, with McCulloch $v.$ Maryland and Gibbons $v.$ Ogden. Attention to Marshall Court cases is more than a ritualistic now to historical landmarks: the reason is not simply that those cases were important in the development of judicial authority and federal power allocations; it is also that those cases of the early $1800s$ - much more so than many of the decisions of intervening years - remain important today.
So it is with Marbury $v.$ Madison, which follows. Some attention to it would be justified if it represented no more than the historical fact of the Court's first elaborate justification of its judicial review power. But the extensive concern with Marbury here would not be warranted if it were a closed book. Instead, Marbury is very much alive: it rests on reasoning significant for the contemporary exercise of judicial power.
To what extent, for example, it is authority asserted in Marbury simply an incidental byporduct of the ordinary judicial function in deciding lawsuits: to look to the governing law, to consider the Constitution as one relevant source of law, and, in cases of conflicting legal statements, to give proprity to the constitution and to refuse enforcement of any contravening legal norm? To what extent does the Marbury authority rest instead on a claim that the Constitution thrust a more extraordinary mission upon the Supreme Court: that the Court was endowed with a roving commission to police and other branches, as the central guardian of constitutional principles and the special enforcer of constitutional norms? In the proper reading of Marbury may lie answers to many of the questions raised in this chapter: Many Congress curtail the Courts' jurisdiction? May or must the Court intervene in all constitutional disputes? When is resort to the Court permissible? Who may obtain answers to constitutional questions from the Court? When? As to what questions?
Understanding the core reasoning of Marbury, then, is essential to thinking about Court power today. And appreciation of the Marbury reasoning in turn requires some attention to historical antecedents and context. The assertions of the power of judicial review, and the justifications for it, did not spring fullblown in $1803$: they reflected a variety of earlier developments. The purpose of the materials that follow the case is to develop these themes of intellectual and political history, as well as to explore a number of legal issues opened up by Marbury.
